01Overview

Swinglab AI, LLC ("SwingLabs," "we," "us") makes an app that analyzes baseball and softball swing video to give players and coaches feedback. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

You can explore SwingLabs without signing in. Before your first real swing analysis or any purchase, we ask you to sign in with Sign in with Apple, which creates a SwingLabs account. This account is what your analysis credits are tied to, so they carry over if you reinstall the app or sign in on a new device — your saved swing videos, reports, and profile settings live only on your device and do not transfer this way. We don't request your name or email from Apple, so your account is identified only by an anonymous, app-specific id — never your real-world identity.

02Information we collect

Profile information you provide

  • Role (player, parent/guardian, or coach)
  • Age or date of birth — or an age range, if entered by a guardian on a player's behalf
  • Optional details you choose to add: height, weight, batting hand
  • Whether video-analysis consent has been given

Account identifier

Described in §1 — an anonymous, app-specific identifier from Sign in with Apple, tied to your analysis credits. Not your name, email, or Apple ID.

Swing video

The video you record or upload of a swing, and still frames extracted from it, used solely to generate your analysis.

We do not collect your name, email address, or other contact details unless you choose to email us directly for support.

SwingLabs does not use any third-party analytics or advertising software in this app.

03How we use it

  • To generate your swing report — mechanics scoring, coaching notes, drill recommendations, and (when available) a 3D model of your swing
  • To keep the service reliable and troubleshoot problems
  • Only if you separately opt in (see below): to improve the accuracy of SwingLabs' own coaching

We do not sell your information, and by default we do not use your video to train or improve our own models or anyone else's — see the exception below.

03aThe “Help improve SwingLabs” opt-in

Alongside the required consent above, you'll see a separate, unchecked checkbox to let SwingLabs keep this swing's video and analysis data past the standard 30-day window and use it internally to make our coaching more accurate for everyone. This is entirely optional, off unless you actively turn it on, and never required to use the app.

  • This choice is available whether you're consenting for yourself or, if you're a parent/guardian, for a player under 13. If you're consenting on a minor's behalf, this opt-in applies to that player's video specifically, on your authority as their guardian.
  • It applies per analysis, at the moment you submit it — turning it on or off later only affects swings you send afterward, not ones already submitted.
  • We do not sell this data, publish it, or share it outside SwingLabs, and it is never used for advertising.
  • You can turn this off at any time in Profile → Privacy & Data. Turning it off stops new swings from being kept this way; it does not retroactively delete swings already retained under an earlier “yes” — email info@swinglabai.com to request deletion of specific past data.

04Who we share it with

To generate your report, your video and/or extracted frames are sent to two service providers who process it on our behalf. Neither is authorized to use it for anything beyond producing your report.

Move AI (move.ai) turns your video into 3D motion-capture data. Their policy states data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary, and they will delete data within one month of a request sent to support@move.ai.
Anthropic (Claude API) analyzes the swing and writes the coaching report. Anthropic automatically deletes the images and text we send within 30 days of receiving them, and does not use API data to train its models by default.

We don't operate these companies' servers, so we can't force deletion on their systems ahead of the windows above — but we've confirmed neither is permitted to use your data for anything except generating your report.

05What we store, and for how long

On your device

Recorded videos, thumbnails, and saved reports live locally in the app's History tab. This never leaves your device except when sent for analysis as described above.

On our servers

We temporarily store the still frames extracted from your video and the resulting report data to run and display your analysis. We do not store your raw video on our servers by default — it is sent directly to Move AI for processing and is not retained by us afterward. The one exception: if you opt in to “Help improve SwingLabs” (§3a) for a specific swing, we also keep that swing's raw video on our servers, since it's needed for that purpose — video is more identifying than the rest of this data (it shows your face), so we only keep it under this same explicit opt-in, never by default.

These server-side records are automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after creation — unless you opted in to “Help improve SwingLabs” (§3a) for that specific swing, in which case it's kept until you turn the setting off or request deletion. This data is linked to your SwingLab account (the anonymous identifier described in §2), not to your real name or email, which we never collect.

06Your choices

  • Delete My Data — In Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete My Data, or by deleting an individual swing from History, you can instantly and permanently delete every video, thumbnail, and saved report stored on your device. If you're signed in, this also deletes that swing's report, motion data, and (if applicable, see §3a/§5) archived video from our servers. This is scoped to your account, so it only ever covers data created after you signed in — nothing is analyzed or sent to our servers until then.
  • Request deletion from Move AI directly — Email support@move.ai; they must respond within one month under their own policy.
  • Withdraw consent — You can withdraw video-analysis consent at any time in Profile, which disables new uploads.
  • Turn off “Help improve SwingLabs” — Also in Profile → Privacy & Data, separately from the consent above. This stops new swings from being kept past 30 days; email info@swinglabai.com to request deletion of anything already retained under an earlier opt-in.

07Children's privacy

SwingLabs AI is built for players of all ages, but a self-serve account requires confirming the player is at least 13. For a player under 13, a parent or guardian must set up the profile and provide consent on the player's behalf through our in-app guardian-consent flow.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent obtained through that flow.

08Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted transport and access-controlled cloud infrastructure — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the effective date at the top when we do, and post material changes in the app.
